Work Description: Web application developer to join an existing team and be responsible for assisting in the build out of existing and new web applications using IBM WebSphere and Dojo Mobile web stack. Tasks will range from developing JSP and JavaScript, SOAP and REST services with Java, business logic implementations, mapping with ArcGIS API for JavaScript, and frontend customer facing web application changes. Responsibilities will include developing web application solutions with an underlying Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to modernize existing systems. This position requires participation in stand-by rotation and occasional after hours/weekend work. Team oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Four year college degree in computer science, business, related discipline or equivalent education and experience. Certification of computer competencies beneficial


Minimum Qualifications
• Strong background in object-oriented architectures
• Experience incorporating and using open-source frameworks
• Experience working with one or more Web and application servers
• Experience in core Java and JEE custom-software development, Presentation Layer technologies, and application design tools/framework
• Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and team skills
Physical Demands: There are no unusual physical demands associated with this job. Requires above normal mental and visual alertness. May be subjected to occasional stressful situations due to "real-time" response to users. Ability to work at a computer keyboard effectively for long periods of time.

• 2 years of experience developing multi-layer web applications for business
Preferred Qualifications
• Has experience in integration and presentation of HTTP technology
• Willing to learn current and future technologies used at KUB
• Experience with the following: WAS (Websphere Application Server), ESB (Websphere Enterprise Service Bus), WID (Websphere Integration Developer), WPS (WebSphere Portal Server), Java (Programming Language), Dojo (JavaScript Framework), ArcGIS API for JavaScript (mapping api) or other Java Script Libraries, Mapping (geocoding), JSP (JavaServer Pages), JSON (JavaScript Object Notation), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), HTML5 (HyperText Markup Language), Spring (Application Framework), SQL (Structured Query Language), WCM (Web Content Management), SOAP and REST (Web Service Protocol)
