Specific Job Responsibilities:

The Communications & Network Manager is responsible for ensuring that customer needs are satisfied through managing

and coordinating specific informational technology deliverables. This position is responsible for the overall program/project

plan, budget, structure, schedule and staffing requirement related communications and network management. This position

will manage company and third party vendors as well as assure that an integrated software and hardware solution is

provided to meet CNS and NPO needs.

Education & Relevant Experience:

Requires knowledge of and experience in field/activities/operations being supervised to provide comprehensive direction to

staff and work group. Must be knowledgeable of Y-12 business and operations support, resources, practices, processes, and

policies needed to solve problems and accomplish work.

Interprets and implements policy for employees and, in some instances, subordinate supervisors in work group. May require

experience equivalent to the journey level supervisor plus two or more years of progressive supervisory experience.

Additionally, may require knowledge of the company/bargaining unit contract. With exempt professional employees, requires

experience equivalent to the journey level supervised and professional training or experience in field or discipline. In

professional areas, may continue to perform work in area of specialization.

Specific Job Knowledge & Training Required:

Required Skills

--BS, BA degree in Computer Science or Information Systems required or equivalent experience

--Ten years of experience managing, upgrading IT infrastructure/systems located in multiple geographically disbursed sites

with multiple operating environments

--Demonstrated collaborative skills with other IT organizations to analyze CNS business process models, industry methods

and best practices

--Demonstrated skills in short and long term modernization implementation of new IT solutions

--High level of interpersonal skills to address and report sensitive and confidential situations
