Specific Job Responsibilities:

The Cyber Security Director (CSD) will work closely with each organization within CNS as well as the NNSA Production

Office and National Nuclear Security Agency to ensure the information systems security is in compliance with all pertinent

government directives, specifications and guidelines. The CSD will engage in all security issues including architectures,

firewalls, electronic data traffic, network access and all other IT infrastructure components. The CSD is responsible for

computer network defense, system vulnerability management and cyber risk management posture and architecture.

Education & Relevant Experience:

Requires broad and thorough technical/functional and management knowledge and experience to accomplish organizational

mission and Y-12 goals and objectives.

Requires progressive management experience integrating various major departments in a functional area that may have

competing priorities.

Manages multi-disciplines, integrating multi-functions in resolving cross-functional issues and/or problems. Requires in-depth

knowledge of Y-12 business and operations support, resources, practices, processes, and policies to solve problems and

accomplish work.

Requires knowledge to take broad policies and implement them in the functional organization, to recommend changes, or

develop new ones.

Specific Job Knowledge & Training Required:

Required Skills:

--Bachelor degree from an accredited college, or equivalent professional experience, combined education, and training

commensurate with position

--Leadership skills in managing, consolidating and transforming complex, mission focused geographically disbursed


--Leadership skills in coordinating subordinate employee and subcontractor recruitment, selection and training, performance

assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions

--Ten years experience in security risk identification, incident response, threat detection, attack mitigation and other cyber

security best practices

--Five years experience in deploying, managing and tuning security systems and tools

--CISSP or related Information Security training or certification

Desired Skills:

--COOP and DR experience

--Knowledge of NIST-800 and other standards

--ITIL v3 Foundation certification
