Work Description: Uses electronic/mechanical equipment to perform skilled testing and calibration of electric, gas and
water metering devices. Disassembles, cleans, adjusts, repairs, and tests electric, gas and water meters as well as associated
equipment and other precision mechanical devices. Uses hand tools, electronic/mechanical equipment and computers to test
meters and devices. Will be reading meters of all kinds. Records materials used and meters repaired. Makes in-depth
inspections of meters and must be able to keep detailed documentation for root cause analysis summaries. Works under
production schedules in a multi-tasking environment. Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to work in a diverse, team
environment. Occasionally, will be required to operate a KUB vehicle and forklift in the warehouse.
Minimum Qualifications
• Must be a full-time student of an accredited college or university and maintain active student status
• Must possess basic computer skills (MS Office, and other related applications)
• Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
• Good oral and written communication
• Has and maintains a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
• Valid driver’s license
Physical Demands: Frequently requires working in cramped spaces, bending and stooping up to 20 times a day, and
lifting up to 50lbs. Physically able to perform the required tasks and responsibilities; the physical requirements for a specific
positions will be described to the applicant immediately prior to or during the interview.
Preferred Qualifications
• Must be pursuing Associates, Bachelors, or a graduate-level degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or
Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Has taken some sophomore and/or junior- level engineering, electric power or power distribution coursework.
• Desire to work in electrical power systems field
