Occupational Category Description:
Supervises personnel in providing Digital and Photographic Imaging Services to Y-12. Coordinates work flow and directs staff in delivering multiple products to multiple deadlines. Assigns, directs and monitors work, instructs employees as needed;ensures tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available and that working standards are maintained and controlled at all times. Provides leadership in maintaining safe working conditions and safety awareness and ensures strict application of regulations for security and plant protection. Handles all personnel matters associated with the work group. Interviews, hires or makes hiring recommendations; evaluates performance; coaches and counsels; rewards and disciplines employees as appropriate; and trains and develops staff. Supervises personnel in providing video production and video conference services at Y-12.
Manages the video production work and high speed motion picture studies for Y-12, ETTP, ORNL, and Work for Others. Responsible for two classified and two unclassified video conference center located at Y-12. Assigns, directs and monitors work; instructs employees as needed; ensures tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available and that working standards are maintained and controlled at all times.

Education & Relevant Experience:
Requires knowledge of and experience in field/activities/operations being supervised to provide comprehensive direction to staff and work group. Must be knowledgeable of Y-12 business and operations support, resources, practices, processes, and policies needed to solve problems and accomplish work.
Interprets and implements policy for employees and, in some instances, subordinate supervisors in work group. May require experience equivalent to the journey level supervisor plus two or more years of progressive supervisory experience. Additionally, may require knowledge of the company/bargaining unit contract. With exempt professional employees, requires experience equivalent to the journey level supervised and professional training or experience in field or discipline. In professional areas, may continue to perform work in area of specialization.

Specific Job Knowledge & Training Required:
Bachelor's degree in communications, multimedia or business and at least 5 years of supervisory experience. Ten years of progressive experience in one or more multimedia functions or related field and 5 years of supervisory experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
Requirements: --Multimedia knowledge and experience to provide comprehensive direction to staff. --Must be thoroughly familiar with managing operations, resources, practices, processes and policies. --Ability to think independently and make sound decisions based on knowledge of operational requirements. --Frequent contact with CNS managers and staff at all levels and with outside representatives concerning operations, scheduling, and implementation of projects, including NNSA and vendors. --Excellent communications skills. --The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy clearance.
