The Office of Administrative Services (OAS) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking administrative assistants
to fill a variety of part-time to full-time temporary or temporary to permanent positions. We can help you build your career by

Major Duties/Responsibilities
Participants in the OAS program will perform a full range of office management and administrative functions supporting
business needs and may be required to:
*Manage information flow and communications.
*Schedule and maintain calendar of appointments, meetings, and conferences.
*Arrange travel for staff and guests (both domestic and foreign, including foreign and domestic trip reports).
*Provide consistent phone coverage.
*Prepare a variety of written materials and numeric reports including PowerPoint presentations.
*Establish and manage records systems.
*Assuring compliance with office procedures and guidelines.
*Handle sensitive and personally identifiable information according to established procedures.
*Track, coordinate, and follow actions/responses to assure completion.
*Maintain and coordinate updates on relevant websites.
*Assist other administrative support staff as needed with support duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience and a High School diploma or an Associate's
degree. Participants must have excellent human relations and communications skills (verbal and written). Participation in
the OAS program requires proficiency in the following software systems: Microsoft Office 2007 Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook). Experience with Access and web maintenance tools a plus. If you are professional, flexible and

Successful participants must also:
*Promote a business-like environment with both internal and external customers.
*Demonstrate initiative and a willingness and ability to perform and learn all administrative
tasks as needed.
*Maintain a consistent work schedule during core hours to meet needs of staff.
*Work on multiple tasks in a limited amount of time in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
*Set priorities appropriately to accomplish multiple and simultaneous tasks.
*Exhibit concern for people and experience dealing with various personalities, backgrounds, and ethnicities in a multi-level,
multi-disciplinary, scientific environment.
