Work Description:

Monitors and analyzes federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, recommendations and regulations
(including but not limited to OSHA, TOSHA, NIOSH, etc). Review regulatory requirements, research best practices, and establish
and/or implement KUB’s current regulatory practices for compliance programs such as Electrical Site Safety, Arc flash analysis, work
zone safety, construction site safety and personnel protective equipment. Makes recommendations concerning methods or techniques
to assist in attaining, maintaining, or exceeding compliance with all applicable regulations. Works with internal work groups to enhance
existing or to develop new compliance programs or processes. For new or changes to existing regulations, develops compliance
strategies with internal work groups to assure compliance with applicable requirements. Implements compliance strategies through the
development of compliance manuals and plans, development of process documentation, and development of training materials for
instructors or to provide instruction. Communicates regulatory changes and requirements to all levels of the organization in written or
presentation format. Performs or coordinates audits for existing programs and facilities to ensure compliance with safety programs.
Provides technical advice and assistance regarding applicable regulations and programs to other employees, customers, builders,
architects, consultants, and contractors. Collects data and submits reports when required. May assist or conduct
educational/promotional programs in order to promote utility and safety awareness. Works on special projects and assignments as
required including support to KUB’s Incident Response programs. May participate with other cross-functional teams within KUB,
occasionally assuming a leadership role to address specific goals and objectives. May participate in or oversee specific areas of the
Safety and Technical Services Department's operating budget process. May require beyond normal business hours or standby support
to aforementioned programs.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or public health and safety field
• Strong PC skills including MS Office Professional (i.e. Access, Excel, Project, PPT)
• Strong analytical and project management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner
• Valid TN driver's license

Physical Demands: Works primarily in an office setting, but regular field visits and activities are required. These field visits may
include: emergency response activities and support beyond normal business hours, heavy lifting or strenuous work and mobility over
rough terrain. Requires bending, stooping, lifting, and working in awkward and strenuous positions at times. Occasionally requires
above normal mental and visual alertness.

Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree in a science, engineering, public health, and/or safety
• Applicable professional certification (Utility Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, etc.)
• 3-5 years of experience administering utility and/or safety regulatory programs
• Understanding of utility environment with regard to operational aspects
• Strong interpersonal and team skills
