2008 YWCA Tribute to Women
KNOXVILLE - YWCA Knoxville has announced the 27 finalists for the 2008 Tribute to Women, the 24th year of the event in East Tennessee. One honoree will be selected in each of the nine categories: Administrative/Clerical Professional, Art, Business & Government, Education, Human Services, Outstanding Youth, Phyllis Wheatley Memorial Humanitarian Award, Science & Technology, and Volunteer Community Service.
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of East Tennessee (HCCET) is proud to announce that Dr. Loida Velázquez, a founder member of HCCET, has been selected as a finalist in the Human Services category. We are proud of Loida and are excited that her many contributions to our community are being recognized by such a wonderful organization, the YWCA Knoxville.
The event will be held on Thursday, August 21st with the Gala Reception and Silent Auction at the First Tennessee Lobby at 5:30 p.m. and the Awards Ceremony at the Historic Bijou Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Individuals may attend the event for $75.
