First Night in Knoxville

First Night® es una celebración de las artes para darle la bienvenida al año nuevo en un ambiente familiar. Esta tradición empezó en la ciudad de Boston en 1976 y hoy en día se celebra en más de 100 ciudades en 30 estados de los EEUU, como también en Canadá y Nueva Zelandia.
Knoxville celebró First Night® por primera vez el año pasado. Este 31 de diciembre, usted y su familia podrán disfrutar de todo tipo de actuaciones musicales, de baile, magia, títeres, cómicos, ventrílocuos, etc. en doce diferentes lugares en el centro de Knoxville. Para entrar a estos lugares necesitará tener un botón de First Night el cual puede comprar por solamente $10 en cualquier gasolinera Pilot, en los almacenes de Market Square District Association o en línea en: www.firstnightknoxville.com. Los niños menores de seis años no necesitan un botón. Si esperan a comprar el botón el mismo día de la celebración, el precio será de $15.
El bellísimo e histórico Teatro Tennessee tendrá el festival para niños empezando a las 3:00 PM. Aquí los niños podrán crear artesanías, hacerse pintar la cara, ver el show de la familia Bonilla, música para niños en vivo, etc.
El gimnasio de la YWCA se convertirá en el local internacional Passport donde podrá disfrutar de música y actuaciones de baile como Salsa, Flamenco, banda de percusión caribeña, Capoeira y música afro-cubana.

First Night® is a family-friendly, alcohol-free New Year’s Eve community celebration of the arts. The celebration began in Boston in 1976 and has grown to an event that attracts hundreds of thousands of celebrants each year. Since then the event has expanded to over 100 cities in 30 states across the country, as well as internationally into Canada and New Zealand.
This year’s event offers a choice of a dozen different venues, with over thirty performances ranging from music to dance, comedy to theater. Each venue features a full schedule of entertainment, with performances starting just after 7 pm. Most venues will wrap up close to 11:30 pm, to give everyone time to make their way back to Market Square for the end of the year Countdown, Ball Drop and Fireworks.
Our Children’s Festival is being presented by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. One of our most popular attractions, it has expanded to the Tennessee Theatre this year. We will start at 3 pm with arts and crafts projects in the lobby, with One World Circus teaching the kids some fun circus skills. Performances on the Theatre stage will begin around 4 pm and will continue on until our Early Kid’s Countdown at 9 pm.
Your First Night Admission Button gets you in to all of the venues throughout the day. Just $10 in advance, $15 the day of the event, kids 6 and under do not require a Button.
